Union Cabinet Nods A Hike In DA of Central Government Employee from 17% to 28%

July 14, 2021: Giving a major relief to the employees and the pensioners of the central government, Union Cabinet has finally nodded the dearness allowance (DA) from 17% to 28% on July 14, Wednesday, in the second meeting of newly formed Cabinet after a reshuffle.


Union Minister Anurag Thakur has tweeted that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central government employees and pensioners has been increased from 17% to 28%. This will be applicable from July 1st.

The hike consists of 3% for July and further pending from the previous months. . Also, the 11% hike is made up from the two pending DA instalments from this year and one from the last year. It will cost government approximately 34,400  crore rupees and benefit around 48,34,000 employees and 65,26,000 pensioners of Central government

There was a mix response from the people on this decision on twitter. Most replied in a disgruntled voice against the government not forcing the other private sectors to increase the same for the private employees.
