Haryana's Public Information Officer(PIO) Poonam Raathi said that they do not have any information regarding this query. However, he said, "the documents might be available with the Election Commission."According to the details of an RTI, filed on January 20 by a Panipat-based activist PP Kapoor, the citizenship documents of Chief Minister of Haryana and the governor, cabinet ministers are unavailable..
It is dramatic to see as Haryana's Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, had promised to implement NRC in his state. "In Haryana we will implement NRC along the lines of Assam", Khattar had said after the discussion with former Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and a retired high court judge HS Bhalla on this issue. Khattar had further informed at a press briefing this year in January that around 1,500 refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan can be given citizenship in his state because of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Interestingly Bihar was the first NDA state to pass resolution against NRC. Will Haryana follow the same?
