Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) is one of the most exploited class of employees in India. GDS job would greatly disappoint you if you belong to the crazed up government job seeking youth in India. First, one would be required to have above the distinction marks in order to get appointed as GDS employee. GDS categorizes into two posts: GDS BPM and GDS EDDA. The former is accountable to the office work and the latter to the delivery of mail. GDS salary is about 14,000 in the beginning. It is certainly a handsome amount of money to lure brilliant persons to these posts in the Postal department. But one soon realizes that GDS post is not considered full time government employee in the eyes of central government.
